College Rewarded for Outstanding Practice
Reid Kerr College has achieved one of the highest accolades in business excellence from Quality Scotland, at the Scottish Awards for Business Excellence 2007. The College in Paisley was announced as winners of the People Development Award at a prestigious ceremony held in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, attended by a variety of organisations from the private, public and voluntary sectors.
To achieve this award Reid Kerr College was nominated by Investors in People Scotland (IiPS), the awards sponsor for achieving the highest Investors in People Profile Review score in Scotland and demonstrating outstanding practice in the area of people management and development. A Profile Review provides organisations with the opportunity to benchmark management practices and Reid Kerr College is now ranked within the Top 20 organisations in the UK.
Hans H Rissmann (OBE) Chairman of IiPS presented the award to Judith Paxton Human Resources Director at Reid Kerr. He commented, "This Award reflects the strong partnership between Investors in People Scotland and Quality Scotland. There is great synergy between IIP and the principles of business excellence. The College was seen to have particular strengths in business planning, social responsibility, the planning, implementation and measurement of learning and development and management effectiveness."

The Scottish Awards for Business Excellence are designed to showcase business excellence at various stages across the public, private and voluntary sectors. Each year, organisations take part in what can only be described as the most rigorous awards process in Scotland to gain valuable feedback and become recognised across the UK and Europe as an exemplar of outstanding business excellence.
