Open University Partnership
Reid Kerr College and the Open University have signed an agreement to work together in what is a unique partnership. So what does this mean for you?
- Whether a current or previous student at Reid Kerr College, or you simply want to enhance your employability and career development by studying for a degree at a time and place that suits you - then we could have the ideal solution.
- If you have an HNC or HND there are a number of progression options to degree and you will be able to use credit points gained from your HNC or HND to reduce the amount of time it will take you to get your degree.
- You study part time, so this suits people who want or need to study but study at a time that fits around you personal or work commitments.
- As a Reid Kerr Open University student via this partnership you will have full access to Reid Kerr College facilities and Support Staff. This includes our OU Centre where you can meet with tutors or simply use the facilities to study, access resources or use our dedicated IT facilities and on-line resources. You will also have access to our library and flexible drop in IT and study suites and our full range of Support Services.
- You will have access to the facilities and dedicated support staff of one of Scotland's leading Colleges and a University that was ranked as one of the UK's top 5 Universities.
What can I study?
The Open University's BA or BSc (Open) degree allows students to choose from a wide range of OU modules tailored to their personal and vocational needs. This allows students to either build on the subject areas studied or college or provides the flexibility to develop skills and knowledge in other subject areas.
Students with an HND can count up to 240 points of credit transfer towards the OU's 360 points BA/BSc (Open) with Honours. Similarly, a student with an HNC can count between 95 and 120 points of credit transfer towards the 300 point BA/BSc (Open) or the 360 point BA/BSc (Open) with Honours. Honours degrees in named subjects are also available and further information on credit transfer is available on request.
For further information why not drop into our dedicated OU Centre located at our main campus on Renfrew Road or call Katrina Crawford on 0141 581 2255 for details on how you can find out more.
