Learning Plus - Support for Students with a Disability or a Special Learning Difficulty
The College welcomes applications from students with disabilities.
We make every effort to meet your needs and strive to ensure that all disabled students can access every College facility. Many areas of the campus have been adapted with lifts, ramps and special toilet facilities. There is also extensive, accessible car parking. We have ongoing programmes to extend opportunities for those with a disability.
Members of the Learning Plus team are available to give advice about existing facilities, equipment and to discuss any requirements that you may have. Additionally representatives are also available in most teaching departments.
Learning Plus offer support to students who have a disability that may affect their learning. Support is centred around the needs of the individual and may include, loan of specialist equipment, 1:1 Support, Reader/Scribe, etc
Categories of students who are eligible for this support include those affected by:
- Learning Difficulties
- Specific Learning Difficulties e.g. Dyslexia
- Sensory Disabilities
- Physical Disabilities & Health Problems
- Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties
- Difficulties in Learning Associated with Mental Health Problems
