ILA Scotland is a Scottish Executive scheme, which helps you pay for learning that you can do at a time, place and pace and in a way that suits you. If you earn £18,000 or less, you could get up to £200 per year towards the cost of learning. If you earn more than £18,000 a year, you could get up to £100 a year.

How to claim your ILA towards part-time study

  • Apply for the course
  • Contact ILA Scotland on 0808 100 1090 to receive an application pack and verify if the course is available for ILA Funding.
  • Complete the application pack and return to ILA - approximate assessment period 2 to 4 weeks.
  • On receipt of your ILA Account Number advise the Admissions Unit of your number (this can be done by telephone or in person). Payment of £10 for each course is required at this point.
  • ILA will not accept your Account Number after the start date of the course, ILA course bookings will be closed.
  • We will then book your course via the ILA website. This will prompt ILA to send you a Learning Voucher, which once processed will help pay for your course.
  • Present the ILA voucher to the Admissions Unit. (Please note you must present your ILA Voucher to the College within 60 days from the start date of the course or the ILA voucher will no longer be valid.)
  • For each course that you study a minimum of £10 payment is required.
