Gary McIsaacNational Technical Manager Gary McIsaac, 37 from Paisley has been working hard to improve the quality of his education recently and has completed a wide range of Engineering programmes at Reid Kerr College in Paisley.  Gary has completed an HNC in Mechanical Engineering and aims to complete a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Quality this year, providing him with the tools to continue developing his career in the technical engineering industry.

Gary said, "I enrolled at Reid Kerr in 2005 and chose to study there due to the flexible study options and wide range of engineering courses.  I have completed the Health & Safety IOSH (Working Safely) course and the NEBOSH certificate and I will complete the HNC Quality in June 2008.  I work full-time and have studied all of these courses on a part-time basis."

During his studies Gary was introduced to staff from the Student Support section in the College where he completed a number of tests and assessments and was later diagnosed with Dyslexia.  He added, "Before I began studying at Reid Kerr I knew that I had difficulties with written work and following the tests, discussions and support from lecturers at the College I began to realise that I could achieve what I was aiming for."

He said, "I am really proud of what I have achieved at College and within my own career.  The training and most importantly the support that I have received while at Reid Kerr has been tremendous.  I have been recommending others to the HNC Quality programme and strongly believe the College has been instrumental in my career development over the past few years."
