Flexible Learning
Many people would like to gain a College qualification, however, due to other commitments - or for many other reasons - not everyone wants to attend classes on regular basis. You may have difficulty making it into College at all. If you fall into one of these categories you should consider Flexible Learning as a serious option.
Flexible Learning is a fresh approach which is becoming more popular all the time. It gives you responsibility for your own learning. You can learn at home using one of our Distance Learning packs, visit College on a drop-in basis when you want to, or go to one of our outreach Centres which may be nearer to your home than the main College campus. Age and previous experience have little relevance. All that is required from you is the desire and determination to succeed. You will receive support from our experienced lecturing staff whatever you starting point.
The College's Flexible IT Learning centre is located in the 1st and 2nd floors of the Renfrew North Building. The centre offers a range of courses suitable for students unable to attend college at set times every week. The range of courses on offer should equip students with the level of computer knowledge and skills expected by today's employers.
Reid Kerr College also works closely with local Authority Community Education services. College provision is available at a number of Outreach venues in areas such as Johnstone, Foxbar, Ferguslie Park, and Barrhead. Some of these centres are linked via the Internet to the College and on-line tutorial support is available.
Another option is to take the Distance Learning route. If you choose to study in this way you can work at home using quality distance learning packs. Information on the distance learning packs available can be found in the library located in the Abercorn Building or by calling our freephone number 0800 052 9613.
In short Flexible Learning gives you a range of options to make gaining a qualification as convenient as possible, and if you can't come to College, maybe the College can come to you!
