The Community Development Team also offers a selection of courses providing students with knowledge of & experience in various aspects of community work.

HNC Working with Communities (Community Education Validation & Endorsement (CeVe) endorsed course)

Subjects include:
Accountability For And Management Of Resources, Social Science Approaches, Principles & Practice, Learning Approaches, Preparing To Work With Community Groups, Workplace Practice, Graded Unit, Adult Learning, Working With Young People, Capacity Building, Promoting Health.

SCQF Level: 7

Entry Requirements:
2 Highers or NC Working with Communities. Mature students with appropriate experience will be considered at interview. All applicants must be over 18 years of age.

Study Mode:
Full-Time.

Progression To:
Degree programmes and Employment.

Career Paths:
There are a variety of employment opportunities in both statutory and voluntary sectors in the area of Community learning and Development.

 

NC Working with Communities

Subjects include:
Introduction to People & Society, Information Technology, Skills for Effective Learning, Communication, Introduction to Setting Up & Working with Groups, Work Experience, Community Work Induction, Roles & Behaviour, Committee Skills, Numeracy.

SCQF Level: 4/5

Entry Requirements:
No formal entry qualifications but experience of working in a community setting, or a keen desire to do so is essential.

Study Mode:
Part-time.

Progression To:
HNC Working with Communities.

Career Paths:
There are a variety of employment opportunities in both the statutory and voluntary sectors in the area of Community Learning & Development
