The Centre for Leisure Industries incorporates three sections, these are Hospitality, Travel & Tourism; Hairdressing & Beauty and Sport. Each of these vibrant sectors offers excellent career opportunities in local, national and international markets. There is a constant demand in all three areas for well-qualified, enthusiastic staff at all levels, from trainee to management and self-employment.
Our courses prepare you in both the practical and theoretical aspects of each job to enable you to maximise your chosen career development.
Hospitality students are based on the ground floor of the main Renfrew Building, working in the popular Renfrew Room Training Restaurant, production kitchen and 3 training kitchens. Hospitality students are given opportunities to experience international work placements in Boston, USA and to travel overseas on study visits to St Petersburg, Russia. Travel & Tourism students use dedicated classrooms in the new Renfrew North building and are also encouraged to participate in an annual European study programme in a European destination.
Hairdressing & Beauty students study in five Hairdressing Salons, five Beauty Salons and a Make Up Artistry Studio all located in the Renfrew North Building. Each year Hairdressing students enjoy great success in national and international competitions and the section has links with a similar college in Vancouver, Canada.
The Sports section operates in the Moorcroft Sports Centre located between Paisley & Renfrew. This dedicated Sports Centre has state of the art gymnasiums, sports halls and changing facilities.
