BEGINNER LEVEL

Students should have basic keyboard skills and be familiar with Microsoft Windows environment

Fundamentals; opening & closing workbooks; creating & saving workbooks; formulas; editing cells; copying and moving; printing; formatting cells; formatting worksheets; workbooks' cell referencing; functions; charts.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Students should have a basic knowledge of Excel or should have completed a Beginner level course.
CONTENT:
Options; settings chart parameters; formatting charts' worksheets views; advanced cell formatting; protection; cell comments; names; advanced cell editing; templates; advanced printing; advanced formulas; solver; scenarios; views linking; lists; filters; sorting; pivot tables.

ADVANCED LEVEL
LENGTH OF STUDY:
9 weeks of tutor support
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Students should have a good working knowledge of Excel or should have completed the Intermediate level course.
CONTENT:
Advanced functions; advanced charts; outlines; objects; data tables; data analysis; styles; data consolidation; customising toolbars; macros; auditing; forms; web pages; sharing workbooks; importing data; designing solutions

STUDY METHOD
Home or work-based self study, with additional support and advice from personal tutor
ASSESSMENT
There is no formal assessment, but after completing the course, students can, if they wish, obtain a college certificate by completing a final practical assignment.
COMMENTS
Students require access to a PC with Microsoft Office software, although access to College computing facilities can be arranged if required.
