Professional Development Award in Financial Accounting

Aim:
To provide a qualification that covers a range of financial administration, book-keeping and accounting skills (both manual and computerised).  This new PDA offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking employment in financial administration and accounting.  It is also suitable for continuous professional development for individuals already employment.

Length of Study: 
One year with tutor support.

Entry Requirements: 
Applicants should have a good general education up to Higher Level.

Contents:
This course consists of 3 SQA units: Recording Financial Information, Using Financial Accounting Software (SAGE) and Preparing Final Accounts.  This covers manual and computerised record keeping using SAGE software and the preparation of final accounts for a range of business organisations.

Home based self-study with a tutor to contact for help and advice

Assessment:
Assessments are continuous and last the duration of the course. A variety of assessment methods are used some must be undertaken in supervised conditions either in college or in a suitable alternative location by an appropriate invigilator.
