Professional Development Award in Book-keeping

 

Aim:
To provide a qualification that covers a range of book-keeping procedures, (both manual and computerised). This new PDA offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking employment in financial administration and book-keeping.  It is also suitable for continuous professional development for individuals already in employment.

Length of Study:
Up to one year with tutor support.

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should have a good general education up to Higher Level.

Contents:
This course consists of 3 SQA units: Recording Financial Information, Using Financial Accounting Software (SAGE) and Payroll.  This covers manual and computerised record keeping using SAGE software.  The preparation of payroll records are covered both manually and using SAGE Payroll Software.

Home based self-study with a tutor to contact for help and advice

Assessment:
Assessments are continuous and last the duration of the course. A variety of assessment methods are used some must be undertaken in supervised conditions either in college or in a suitable alternative location by an appropriate invigilator.

Cost:
£300 + £100.25 SQA Group Award Fees.
