Communication 3 (Code: EE3T11 1 Credit)


Aim:
To provide competence in reading, writing, listening and talking skills, equivalent to a pass at Standard Grade.

Length of Study:
18 weeks with tutor support.

Entry Requirements:
It would be helpful if students possessed Communication 2, however this is not necessary for adult returners.

Contents:
Developing Reading & Comprehension Skills; Writing Memos, Letters & Reports; Developing the Skills of Critical Listening; Interacting Orally on a One-to-One or Group Basis.

Study Method:
Home-based self study with tutor support for help and advice.  Please  note that some College attendance is essential.  Students must be able to attend College for some assessments.

Assessements:
There are six assessments in all, with written assessments for reading and writing and practical exercises in listening and talking skills. There is a high element of group interaction on this course and students would attend College to practise listening and talking skills prior to formal assessment.

Cost:
£100 + £12.50 SQA Fees.
