Basic E-Skills - College Certified Course

Aim:
This course is designed to familiarise learners with the Internet and provide them with an introduction to creating web pages.

Length of Study:
9 weeks Tutor support.

Entry Requirements:
There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although basic computer skills would be useful.

Contents:
Using a Browser to Trawl the Internet, Setting Up and Using E-mail Accounts, Downloading from the Internet, Using HTML to Create Web Pages, Using Web Editor to Create Web Pages.

Study Method:
Home or work-based self-study with additional support and advice from personal tutor.

Assessment:
After working through the course exercises, students who successfully complete a practical assessment will obtain a College Certificate.

Comments:
Students require access to a PC with Microsoft Office software, although access to College computing facilities can be arranged if required.
