HNC Creative Industries: Radio

Course Content:
Do you want to work on radio or TV as a producer or presenter?
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the skills you'll need. Most of broadcasting's top talents start their career in radio and this course prepares you for this important first step.

You'll learn about all aspects of radio broadcasting in the college's own state of the art digital radio station, working hands-on with sound mixers, recorders and more.

You'll meet personalities from all of Scotland's biggest radio brands including BBC Scotland, Clyde, Galaxy and the community stations. You'll also have the opportunity to visit these stations - all the while making your own programmes.

Reid Kerr is a partner in the Creative Loop Skillset Media Academy. Simply put, it means our Creative Industries courses are recognised by industry as relevant and excellent.

Subjects include: Scriptwriting, Presentation Skills, Music Programme Production, Speech Production, Radio Interviewing, Digital Audio, plus a Graded Unit.

SCQF Level: 7

Entry Requirements:
2 Highers preferred or appropriate SQA Units. But students with without formal qualifications will always be considered on their individual merits.

Study Mode:
Full-Time - 1 Year

Progression To:
BA Media Theory & Production or other media related programmes.

Career Paths:
Job opportunities in all aspects of the broadcast media including production and presentation.

Morning Classes 9.00am - 12 noon. Afternoon Classes 1.00pm - 4.00pm

£110 per credit, plus appropriate SQA fees.
