NC Dental Nursing

This full time course is aimed at people who would like to be prepared to the NEBDN examination within a year.  (They would then be a qualified dental nurse once 24months chairside experience is completed).

Course Content

Subjects include:
Health & Safety Procedures
Provide Chair Side Support during Assessment and Dental Treatments
Protect Oral Health
Record of Experience
Produce Dental X-Rays
Personal & Portfolio Development

The course also includes Core Skills and a Work Placement (Hep B vaccination requried before commencement) as well as an examination in late May, set by the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN).

SCQF Level: 5/6

Entry Requirements
Three Standard Grades (at General level or above), including English and Biology or Science or equivalent qualifcations.
A genuine interest in dental health care.
Mature students without qualifications will be considered at interview.
