Preparing Final Accounts

Aim:
This unit enables you to prepare final accounts for a range of business organisations - sole trader, partnerships and limited companies. The unit also enables you to produce a cash flow statement for a limited company and to analyse this type of business using recognised accounting ratios.

Length of Study:
36 Weeks with tutor support.

Entry Requirements:
Competence in numeracy and communication skills.

Contents:
Preparing Final Accounts (Trading, Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet) for a Partnership and a Limited Company Trading as either a retailer or manufacturer, preparing final accounts for a sole trader from incomplete records, preparing a cash flow statement for a limited company, analysing the finance accounts of a limited company, using appropriate accounting ratios.

Study Mode:
Home-based self-study with a tutor to contact for help and advice.

Assessment:
There are 3 closed book assessments that must be taken under supervised conditions.

Cost:
£200 + £12.50 SQA Fees.
