HNC Early Education and Child Care
This qualification aims to develop the student's knowledge and understanding of the principles and values underlying the care and education of young children. To achieve this qualification candidates must be working in an early years environment. The candidate is required to spend time in the workplace to achieve several of the units in the HNC Early Education and Child Care Award.

Course Content:
Subjects include: Working In An Early Education & Childcare Setting, Children & Young People's Rights, Theoretical Approaches To Development & Learning, Curriculum & Assessment, Facilitating Playwork Opportunities, Understanding & Supporting Children's Behaviour, Children & Young People With Additional Support Needs.
Entry Requirements:
Candidates must be 18 or over and have 2 Highers or appropriate SQA Units, NC Childcare & Education, NC Early Education & Childcare, or relevant experience. To achieve this qualification candidates must be working in a childcare environment.
Study Mode:
Full-Time & Part-Time.
Progression To:
BA Childcare Studies, BEd Early Years.
Career Paths
Practise at Practitioners category for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.
