HND Hospitality Management

This course prepares students for a supervisory or management career in the Hospitality Industry or for entry to various related degree courses at university or for entry to a Management Training Scheme within a hotel group.  Students learn skills in Food Production and Service and related theory.

Subject areas include: Hospitality Industry, Hospitality:Finance & Control, Food Hygiene Intermediate, Food & Beverage Service, Food Production Processes, Accommodation Servicing, Hospitality Front Office Procedures, Hospitality; Graded Unit, Human Resource Management 1, Hospitality Financial Accounting, Managing Hospitality Orgainsations.

SCQF Level: 8

Entry Requirements:
1 Higher and 4 Standard (Credit) or 4 ‘O' Grades (A,B or C) or relevant SVQ/GSVQ Level 3 or 15 relevant Units or Industrial experience.

Study Mode:
Full-Time, Part-Time and Day Release

Progression To:
Final year (year 3) of the BA Hospitality Management degree and year 2 sometimes year 3 of various other degrees e.g. Human Resource Management, Marketing & Strategic Management.  Some hotel groups offer places on their management training schemes.

Career Paths:
Opportnities exist for employment as a Hotel Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Contract Catering Manager, Hotel Services Manager to name just a few.

£100 per credit, plus appropriate SQA fees.
