HNC Computer Aided Draughting and Design

The aim of this course is to develop practical skills/techniques necessary for a career in CAD.  The course is ideal for learning key skills in 2D and 3D draughting techniques.  The CAD software used throughout the course is AutoCad and Microsoft Office.  Assessment is mainly practical, focused on developing a wide range of integrated skills and knowledge on a continuous basis throughout the programme.

The course would also provide a good foundation for developing an alternative career.

FULL-TIME

Course Content:
Core: 2D Draughting, Communication, Operating Systems, CADD Project, 3D Modelling, Solid Modelling.

Options: Design Drawing & Communication, CAD & Databases, CAD Systems Management (customisation techniques and more).

SCQF Level: 7

Entry Requirements:
No formal qualifications are necessary, however Standard Grades in Graphical Communication, English or Basic Computer Skills would be advantageous. Acceptance on to the course will be decided on an individual basis.

Study Mode:
Full-Time & Part-Time.

Progression To:
HND Computer Aided Draughting.
