Core: Recording Financial Information, Preparing Final Accounts, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Using Financial Accounting Software (SAGE).
Options: Business Law, Economics, Statistics, Communication, Payroll, Information Technology, Workplace Experience.

Entry Requirements:
1 Higher or 12 relevant SQA Modules at Intermediate 2 or equivalent or other relevant qualifications or experience.
Study Mode:
Full Time, Part Time, Day Release Evening & Distance Learning.
Progression To:
Access to 2nd year of HND Accounting or University Degree Courses. Part exemption from various Professional Accounting Qualifications.

With a strong focus on financial and management accounting, the options available within this course also allow you an opportunity to develop a wide range of business and information technology skills. Subjects include: Book-keeping, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting using Information Technology, SAGE Accounting Software, Business Law, Economics and Payroll.

DISTANCE LEARNING
Aim:
This course is designed to provide you with up to date accounting, information technology and business skills to lead to employment or further studies.
Length of Study:
The course consists of 12 Higher National Credits, each of which lasts 18 weeks with tutor support. Students who have already started and HNC Accounting course can be offered Units to complete their qualification.
Contents:
With a strong focus on financial and management accounting, the options available also allow you to develop a wide range of business, communication and information technology skills.
Study Method:
Home-based, self study with a tutor to contact for help and advice.
Assessment:
Assessments are continuous and last the duration of the course. In addition, there is one graded unit assessment, covering the accounting units, towards the end of the course. The graded unit will be accredited at A, B or C pass. The graded unit must be undertaken under supervised conditions. Some unit assessments must be taken under supervised conditions either in college or elsewhere with appropriate invigilation.
