Aim:
This course is designed to enable candidates to improve their current knowledge of food safety and is ideal for those wishing to progress to further qualifications in the food retail sector or gain employment in any industry dealing with food preparation.

It is also suitable for candidates who are already employed in one of the many industries which require retail food preparation skills.

Length of Study:
Flexible up to a maximum of 36 weeks tutor support.

There are no formal entry requirements

Food handler's responsibilities.
Personal hygiene requirements.
Food safety hazards
Keeping food areas clean and hygienic.
Handling and storage of food.
Prepare, cook, hold and serve food safely.

Home-based self-study with tutor support and help and advice

Assessment:
6 Written assessments completed at home.
