Aim:
This course is designed to provide learners with an understanding of nutrition and health. On completion of the award learners will have an understanding of the basic principles of nutrition and the role of food in maintaining health, an increased knowledge of food and health issues and they should be more confident in planning and achieving a nutritionally sound diet.
The course is intended for people who wish to develop their understanding of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining health. The course will provide the knowledge to allow learners to make informed lifestyle choices in relation to diet. It is also suitable for learners who wish to access training in nutrition and health with a view to progression onto further programmes of study.
The award is also suitable for adult learners seeking re-entry to the employment market with insufficient qualifications and/or experience.
Length of Study:
Flexible up to a maximum of 36 weeks tutor support.
