Electronic Construction Skills
Aim:
Introduction to electronic components and heir circuit symbols as used in analogue and digital circuit diagrams. Simulate A.C. and D.C. circuits and to test their function by means of simulated test equipment. Circuit construction techniques, build and test A.C. and D.C. circuits.
Length of Study:
18 weeks with tutor support.
Entry Requirements:
Some prior knowledge of electronic components, their symbols and circuit diagrams. Basic skill in the use of a PC and application packages. Use of basic electronic test equipment.
Contents:
On completion of this unit the candidate should be able to: Interpret and use electronic component symbols in circuit diagrams. Simulate and test electronic circuits. Apply circuit construction techniques. Construct and test circuits on prototype board.
