Great Scottish Runners
A group of staff from Reid Kerr College took part in two of Glasgow's biggest road races recently. The 2008 fresh n lo Great Scottish Run took place over the weekend of 6th & 7th September with a massive 19,000 runners entering the events. Four staff from the college ran the 10k and one member of staff ran the half marathon.
Running for a variety of worthwhile charities, the staff raised over £700 for Macmillan Cancer, Maggie's, Cancerbackup and Cancer Research. Jane Kerr a Lecturer at the College said, "It was a great atmosphere on the day and I am now gearing up for my next race in October and hoping to beat my personal best!."
The Great Scottish Run, takes runners past some of the city's most famous attractions, and featured the hugely popular run over the Kingston Bridge, before finishing in Glasgow Green.
