  • Support For Learning students with Ryan LennoxSaving Lives at Sea
    Staff and students from Reid Kerr College raised funds recently for the RNLI, and the College's training restaurant the Renfrew Room, served up piping hot soup and tasty sandwiches to help support the Lifeboats. In conjunction with the RNLI's annual appeal, Student Liaison Manager Alan Cowan organised this event with help from a group of students from the Support for Learning department at College.

Family, friends, employers, official guests and College staff gathered to honour the best Construction and Engineering students at Reid Kerr, with a presentation of prizes and Certificates of Achievement for outstanding performance in their field.

    One of the UK's most experienced and respected electrical engineers came to Scotland recently to deliver a series of technical talks for contractors working within the electrical industry. Reid Kerr College in Paisley were delighted when Tony Cable, Senior Marketing & Events Engineer with NICEIC agreed to extend his visit and take part in their Annual Lecture for the Institute of Construction and Engineering. Guest speaker on the night, Tony spoke to a packed audience made up of local contractors, installers and suppliers from the Renfrewshire area.

    The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) honours individuals working and training within the area of environmental health at their Annual Awards ceremony. For the 2nd consecutive year, a student from Reid Kerr College picked up a top award at their Highfield Awards held in Edinburgh.

    Gryffe High Pupil and Reid Kerr College Cookery student Craig Hawthorn was recently crowned winner of STV's cooking competition Chef's Apprentice. Selected from thousands of entries, Craig went head to head with another three finalists before he claimed the title and exclusive prize of working with one of Scotland's top Executive Chefs - Jeff Bland of The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh.
