Local and International Students Get Together to Celebrate
Over 600 students were delighted to be honoured at Reid Kerr College’s annual graduation ceremonies in November this year. Students from Scotland and around the world gathered at The Paisley Abbey with their families and friends to celebrate what has become one of the most important dates in the College calendar.
Certificates and Special Awards were presented at four ceremonies this year, and there were invited guests in attendance from various organisations. Graduating from The Academy of Creative Arts was Dougie Nixon, 19 from Glasgow who picked up the prize for HND Acting & Performance sponsored by Charles Scott & Partners and Melissa Ferguson, 26 from Erskine who was named the winner of the Specialist Crafts Prize for her hard work and dedication to her HND Graphic Design.
This year’s winner of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Award was Amy Conachan, 21 from Erskine. Amy graduated with an HND Acting & Performance and enjoyed celebrating with her family on the day.
Students from the Institute of Construction and Engineering (ICE) picked up their certificates of achievement and Gurwinder Singh, an International student from India was named winner of the HND Electronics award sponsored and presented by Mark Dickie of Worldwide Engineering in Hillington.
Business School graduates included Jean Hubert Kasubandi, 51 from The Republic of Congo. Graduating with an HND Computing: Technical Support he was thrilled to be celebrating alongside his daughter Adolphine Kasubandi, 18, who picked up an HNC Computer Games Development. 
Personnel from a variety of organisations also graduated with a selection of qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), including awards in First Line Management and Diplomas in Management & Leadership.
David Lloyd Leisure Clubs sponsored this year’s HND Sports Coaching with Sports Development Award and Nicole Dougan, 21 from Paisley picked up her well earned prize. The Glynhill Hotel sponsored two prizes again this year, including the HND Travel with Tourism. The HND Hospitality Management prize was presented to Nicole Peichl, 24 from Gourock by Allison Hope of The Glynhill.
Other students picking up awards and pictured with their families on the day included, Photography graduate Ashley Docherty, Dance Graduate and HND Prize Winner Chloe Law, Social Care Graduate Stewart Laing and Accounting Graduate Lee Harvey.
A Delegation from China attended the graduations this year and Eliza Shang, Director of Shijiazhuang Vocational Engineering College presented three members of Reid Kerr personnel with the appointment of Honorary Professorship to their College in China. Principal Audrey Cumberford, Anita Osborne, Head of the College’s Business School and Jim McAllister, Head of Corporate Languages & International Business received Honorary Professorships.

Our graduates have worked hard and committed themselves to gaining qualifications and developing their future, therefore congratulations must go to all of our students who now join a growing number of successful graduates to complete their studies at Reid Kerr College in Paisley.”
