Manjit Singh, 21 from India

Manjit SinghElectronic Engineering student Manjit Singh has had a very successful couple of years at Reid Kerr College.  Encouraged by the reputation of the UK education system, Manjit was keen to study in this country and gain qualifications that are accepted worldwide.  He travelled to Scotland and enrolled at Reid Kerr in August 2005.


He said, "Scotland and the UK are recognised as having a very high standard of education and I was keen to achieve my qualifications at Reid Kerr College.  All of the tutors and support staff have been very helpful and it is with their guidance I have achieved both an HNC and HND Electronic Engineering.  I have also secured a place on the 3rd year of an Electronic Engineering degree at university."

Manjit celebrated at the double at the College graduations recently when he picked up not only the International Student of the Year Award but was also named as the first winner of the Kazembe Award for outstanding achievement at College.

He continued,  "I have made many friends while at Reid Kerr College and I think Scotland is a great country to study in.  Everyone is very friendly and the scenery is magnificent.  The cold weather is not too bad, I have got used to it!"
