Fees & Funding

Fee Status

UK Government rules and regulations to determine whether you will be classified as a "home" or "international" student are complex.

Students coming from outside Europe who do not have "settled status" in Britain as defined by the UK Immigration Act 1971 will be charged an overseas rate of fees. To establish a "relevant connection" you must have been "ordinarily resident" in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the commencement of your studies and your residence in the UK must not have been mainly for the purpose of receiving full-time education.

Note: Possession of a British Passport or British citizenship does not itself entitle you to be classified as a "home" student.

If you are in any doubt about your fee status, ask for advice, giving full details of your own and your family's residential history.

Nationals of the European Union (EU) who have a "relevant connection" (see above) with The European Economic Area (E.E.A.) are classified for fee purposes as "home" students.

Financing your Studies
You must secure funds in your own country before coming in to the UK. Contact the British Council or the Ministry of Education in your own country for advice.

Public Funds
International students may not claim public funds while in the UK. To do so would contravene immigration regulations.

How much will it cost?
In addition to tuition fees it is estimated a single student will need approximately £6,000 - £8,000 to cover living expenses for 1 year (52 weeks).
