Reid Kerr HMIE Review
Reid Kerr College is celebrating an outstanding report from a recent Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education's (HMIE) review that puts them top of the college sector.
The College received a 100% clean sweep of the highest grade ‘Very Good' in the College Review section of the report - a first for any Scottish college. In addition, 98% of the Curriculum Subject Reviews achieved the 2 highest grades of ‘Very Good' and ‘Good.'
Seven areas of work in the College were highlighted as Sector Leading Practice including employability skills, achievement, access & inclusion and guidance & support, which will be disseminated to the sector.
Reid Kerr was praised for delivering a high quality provision in learning and teaching, under strong and effective leadership and staff throughout the College were praised for strong teamwork and motivation.
During the review the HMIE review team observed learning and teaching and met with learners and staff from across the College as well as Board members. Additionally they obtained feedback from key College stakeholders such as community groups, partners and employers
